DIALOGUE EDITING
The production sound is assembled into a smooth, balanced track which serves as the foundation of the mix. Audio quality not up to scratch? We have the experience and tools to restore the dialogue as it was indended to be heard.
SOUND FX EDITING
Each sound should serve a purpose in the story, so we tailor it carefully to the project. Every door creak, thunder clap, car engine and dog bark is given care and attention. Ambience fills out the scene, providing a space for the drama to unfold.
FOLEY
The sound of footsteps, cloth and other props. These sounds are performed in sync with picture during post production in order to add weight and texture to the characters’ movements.
SOUND DESIGN
Sound design involves creating sounds that can’t be found in the real world, and heightening or processing them to achieve the effect you desire. This may involve adding a sense of the hyperreal to your project. Sometimes we add excitement and punchiness through whooshes, impacts and low frequency effects. Other times it may involve the opposite, stripping everything back to one or two well-chosen sounds.
MIXING
Dialogue, music and effects are woven into a coherent whole in service of the story. Sounds are placed in space and given depth and context. While previous stages of sound design are concerned with minute details, we now work in broader sweeps with a focus on rhythm, pacing and mood.
We offer Stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 mix services.
MUSIC COMPOSITION
Sets the tone for your project. From subtle strings to rolling chords, crashing crescendos to ominous drones, music is an essential part of the filmmaker’s toolkit. It adds colour to performances, drives the narrative forward and evokes emotion in the viewer.
