Don’t Milk It

Short comedy sketch by the legendairy team at Manchester-based collective, Greenfingers.

Client: Greenfingers Film

Sector: Narrative (2 Mins)

Services: Sound Design & Mix

SYNOPSIS

The question of how much milk should be added to one’s tea is one of the most divisive out there.

What might be a ‘splash’ for one person is a veritable torrent for another. One false move can lead to unpredictable (and even hostile) reactions.

Don’t Milk It takes this premise to comical and surreal places.

SOUND DESIGN

The sketch is less than two minutes long with some of it filmed in slo-mo. The intro is relatively calm, but all hell breaks loose when the question of milk is raised.

Using Presto from Summer of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as a musical foundation, we went overboard on huge water effects and whooshes, greatly exaggerating the sound for comic effect.

We used some pitch effects on the voices and there is even a spinkling of horror sound design too.
