Brian Lane is an Irish composer and sound designer currently based in Manchester, UK. He has composed music for various audio-visual projects including short films, promos and multi-artist installations. His work has been shown in some of the major Irish film festivals in Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick, as well as internationally in Los Angeles, Chicago, La Jolla, Seattle, Rome and Copenhagen.
Brian has a BA in Multimedia from Cork Institute of Technology and an MA in Modernities (English) from University College Cork, graduating with distinction from both. He has over 10 years experience in working with audio technology and is a creative and versatile musician. With influences ranging from dark ambient to disco, he is comfortable composing in a range of styles.
He works with the groups Exit: pursued by a bear and Startropic as a musician and producer, with the former he has released two albums and received extensive national Irish airplay. He also DJs and produces using the alias Immaterial Boy.
